Ok, so I know I left you all hanging Monday when I posted the ITunes winner lol…

The exciting news is that we set a date!!!
JUNE 25, 2011!!! :D
So, that is why I haven’t been able to get around to all your blogs and comment because we’ve been PLANNING A WEDDING!!! :D 6 months to plan a wedding!!
So, do any of you have any advice or stories (funny or serious) from when you
were planning your wedding or of the actual wedding day?! I’d love to hear them!
192 Days Left!! :)
6.25.11
ReplyDeleteawesome.
so happy for you.
Congrats again, my advice, we all know the wedding is your day, and he will agree to 99% of what you want, but he may ask for one or two things, they might seems silly to you or you cant see how it will fit in, but to him its a big deal, let him have his 1%, it will make his day, making your 99% even more perfect
ReplyDeletePS I got your card in the mail, thanks!!
Awesome! That is definitely an excuse for being MIA! Happy planning!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteThings I learned:
- I have a picture of Colin when he first sees me at the start of the aisle. Favourite ever! No one needs to see me right then.
- take snacks! We got totally dehydrated (muggy July) and starving by the time our reception started.
- expect things to possibly go wrong. Nothing's perfect (only close). We didn't order enough flowers to go between the layers of the cake so we ended up not having centerpieces on some tables...
- delegate. And if something goes wrong on their watch they *should not* tell you until after the honeymoon! See above.
- Do the wedding how you and your fiance want it! It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about it. If they criticize any aspect of it they weren't there for the right reasons...
EMZ - Thanks!! I'm so excited!! :)
ReplyDeleteBDD - For some reason he really wanted to pick the cake topper so i let him lol... best decision ever, he was so happy! I got your card today too! :)
Morgan - Thanks!! :)
That is so exciting! Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI sent my Christmas cards out this morning. :)
So excited for you!!!!
ReplyDeleteUm... my advice goes along with my wedding day story... my cake was wrong and my flowers were wrong - but they were still beautiful and worked out just fine... Don't sweat the small stuff. Things will go wrong, but at the end of the day, you'll still be husband and wife!
SO happy for you!
Yay for a date already! 6/25 is Thing 1's bday.
ReplyDeleteI found my dress and already bought it before I brought my mom in to see it. I made the bridal shop pretend I'd never tried it on before when I brought her in so she wouldn't feel left out.
Congratulations!
ReplyDeletemake sure you book your venue ASAP, and check in with your caterer, dj, florist often. Make sure to put down as little deposit as possible. My cousins florist went out of business. She did not get her deposit back.
Yay!! I thought you mentioned waiting 2 years...so 6 months is super exciting! Congrats! I can't wait to hear all the wedding details!
ReplyDeleteExciting!! Have fun with all of the planning. My advice? Hm.... don't let the florist try to force you into flowers you don't want! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd have fun planning!! Yippee!
My advice - pic a photographer you love. The cake, flowers, food, and entertainment will all go away and in the end all you are really left with is your photos. I would sacrifice a little on everything else just to have some awesome pictures when it's all said and done with. Well, photo's and a HUSBAND!!!
ReplyDeleteWoohooo!! Congratulations (and an awesome date if I do say so myself - that's mine, too!)
ReplyDeleteYay! How exciting! June is a great month for a wedding!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will get tons of advice, but here's mine. The day will go by sooo fast! You can only control so much that happens. Some things will go wrong, and it will be OK! Just enjoy the day, try to relax, and just take it all in b/c it will be over before you know it!
Advices: spend money on your honeymoon and less on the wedding.
ReplyDeletealso make sure the photographer is reliable....mine did not show on the big day...can you imagine how mad I was?!!!
Awesome!! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Sherry. We went bare bones on everything for our wedding and for the most part I have not regrets. I do however wish we would have splurged a bit more on the pictures, they last forever.
wow--congrats! That's so exciting...
ReplyDeleteHow exciting Z -
ReplyDeleteI do have ONE very important piece of advice that I was given by a girl who had gotten married a few months before me.
The advice: BE SURE YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND BOTH GET A PIECE OF WEDDING CAKE AT THE RECEPTION.
Your reaction is probably just like mine - "who doesn't get cake at their wedding" - well, my husband and my friend's husband. At our reception which was really small, we cut a piece and fed a bite to each other. Then I grabbed a piece of cake and went to sit back down at the head table - but where was my husband? Bathroom, washing his hands. He didn't get cake! What a HUGE bummer.
My advice - ELOPE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I had a destination wedding in the Virgin Islands, and giiiiiiiiirl it was AWESOME!!!!!
Don't look for a deal on a photographer. This is one place you do NOT want to skimp. You get what you pay for. Our photographer was by far the most expensive part of our wedding, and she was worth every stinkin' penny. (instantmemories.com)
Congrats. My advise is "go with the flow" Things are going to happen that you don't like. Let it run off your back and you'll be fine.
ReplyDelete-Don't be afraid to ask family/friends for help with day before and day of tasks.
ReplyDelete-Make a wedding budget and try your best to stick to it.
-The week of my wedding was very stressful. No sleep. Breaking out. Etc. But afterward it's all worth it.
-The day will go by so fast. Everyone said that and I didn't believe them but it does!
6 months. WTG!
Wonderful! Just have FUN!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!! So exciting! My advice? 6 months will fly by...enjoy all the little moments! Can't wait to hear about all the details!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sherry. I had an awful photographer, and I hate my wedding pics... it's my biggest regret.
ReplyDeletePlanning expands into the time allotted, so just make a list and start checking things off!
Whoa! 6 months! Crazy girl! Good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteAw, this is so exciting! Whoo hoo!
ReplyDeleteHave fun planning! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG that is so soon!
ReplyDeletecongrats again!
