Tommie Copper: Compression Tights Review

Sponsored Post

Tommie Copper Women's Compression Tights Review

I’ve been able to work with Tommie Copper in the past and have really come to love and appreciate this company!! Just in case you haven’t heard of Tommie Copper before, let me tell you a little about them!

Tommie Copper was founded in 2010 as a natural solution for reaching peak performance, speeding muscle and joint recovery and finding relief from aches and pains. If one can use Tommie Copper and achieve a more active life, Tommie Copper hopes this positive change will spread to others throughout the world. (From their website here)

So why add copper?  Well the benefits may surprise you!!  They include:

    • Increases oxygen transport in compression products
    • Neutralizes "free radicals"
    • Improves muscle tone
    • Emits ions
    • Has been used in medicine for thousands of years
    • Is one of the necessary micro-nutrients found naturally in the body

Well, a few weeks ago I was excited to receive yet another email from Tommie Copper letting me review another one of their great copper infused products!! Have I mentioned I LOVE Tommie Copper?! ;)  After spending hours upon hours of contemplating which product I really NEEDED in my life (all of them really), I decided on the Women’s Compression Tights in Grey! You all know that I’ve been having some knee pain and have been wearing the Tommie Copper Knee Sleeves for relief, but let me just tell you… the Tommie Copper Compression Tights are amazing!! Instead of just covering the knee, they cover the whole leg, buttock region, and hips!!! All of which I believe are factors in my knee issue!

Tommie Copper Women's Compression Tights Review

This week I had 2 days off due to extreme cold thanks to the polar vortex or something like that (it was –18 without wind chill!! Yikes!!) So what did I do?  I lounged around like a slobradoodle (coined by the witty Monica at Run Eat Repeat) in my Tommie Copper Tights!! After I had enough of being lazy I decided to get caught up on some of my yoga challenges and tested out the flexibility of my TC Compression Tights. I’m kinda jealous because they are more flexible than me! ;) THEN after I had enough of trying to be productive on a snow day, I pulled on my pjs over my tights and hit the sack! Tough life I know! ;)

After giving them a try here are some things I LOVE about my Tommie Copper Compression Tights:

  • They are super soft, light, and silky to the touch!!
  • They regulate body temperature! LOVED that I didn’t get super hot when I had them under my pjs!
  • Keep my legs feeling rejuvenated and fresh without the compression being as constrictive as a boa constrictor
  • I didn’t have to wiggle my way into these and suck my cottage cheese in to feel the compression benefits!
  • I’m 5’9 and am basically nothing but leg (my torso really doesn’t even exist) and these tights fit perfectly!
  • LOVE that these are super versatile! You can wear them to lounge around, to workout, to do yoga, to sleep in, you could even be cute and fashionable (something I’m not) and wear these with a sweater dress and boots!!

LOVE my Tommie Copper Tommie Copper Thickness
Showing me in LOVE with Tommie Copper         Difference in thickness between their tights (left) and Capris (right)

There was only one thing I would like to warn you about with this… ok 2 things:

1. I don’t know what the black tights would be like, but the grey are pretty see through when worn by themselves. I would recommend wearing a cute athletic skirt or shorts over them if you wear them to the gym!

2. you WILL fall in love with all things Tommie Copper after trying ANY of their products!!

I LOVE my Tommie Copper apparel!! All their products are reasonably priced, come in an assortment of colors, and are comfortable enough to wear 24 hours a day! If you are experiencing pain of any sort (arthritis, running related, fibromyalgia, everyday aches and pains and more), please head over to Tommie Copper’s Website HERE and see how wonderfully their products work for yourself!! :) Now is the perfect time to go on a Tommie Copper shopping spree because they have a great deal going on!! You can get 15% off by adding a certain item to your cart and using the corresponding Coupon Code below!!

You can also check Tommie Copper out on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

*I was sent a pair of free tights for the review.  All opinions are my own and exactly that… OPINION and were not swayed in any way due to receiving a free product.

If so, what’s your favorite Tommie Copper product?

Wordless Wednesday: Yoga Splits Progress Pictures!

I’m so excited to see the progress I’m making in my yoga journey!!  Especially when it comes to the splits!! The splits are something I never thought I’d be able to pull off, but now I know I’ll be able to do a full split! It’s not the question of will i? BUT a quesion of When?! :)  (#ProgressNotPerfection #PracticeMakesProgress) The top progress picture is a 2 month difference and the bottom is a 4 month difference! Slow and steady wins the race! ;)

Brooks Pure Project Apparel Unveiling – I Was There!!

Last Thursday I got the opportunity to go to The Brooks Pure Project Apparel Launch Party at a local Running Store.  You already know that I LOVE the Brooks Pure Project Shoes… I have run in the Pure Flow AND currently the Pure Cadence and love both of them!!  Well… spoiler alert, I LOVE the Pure Project Apparel now too! ;)

I walked into the running store and gave them my name (I had RSVP’d on Facebook) and they handed me an awesome Brooks Goody Bag!!  Their tagline is “Wherever the run takes you” so the goody bag was full of things that you would need on the go!

PureProjectGoodyBag It included:

- Water bottle with wood topped lid (LOVE this!)
- Travel bathroom set and the bottles are too cute with fill lines that say “1 run, 5 runs, 10 runs”
- Bar of soap in the Pure Project Logo shape
- It all came in a Brooks Pure Project Drawstring bag

Pure Project Collage

After I signed in and got my awesome goody bag, I was pointed in the direction of some free food!  Who doesn’t love some free food right?  They had a Greek restaurant a couple stores down cater the event!  I’ve never actually tried any Greek food before except for Gyros at the local county fair, so it was fun to try something new!  I tried some eggplant for the first time and while it wasn’t exactly my favorite… it was pretty good!  I also had some Hummus and Pita bread, veggies, and a piece of dessert that looked like a cookie.  It was a circle and crunchy with a cherry in the middle… it tasted sweet and spicy which was different for a dessert.  AND no, I didn’t get any pictures of the food… Does that mean I’m not a legit blogger?!

A Fashion Show came next and this was the part I was excited for!! I couldn’t wait to see what the new Pure Project Apparel Line looked like!!  Let me just tell you now… it’s amazing!!  One of my favorite pieces was THIS JACKET!!!  They told everyone to get out their smart phones and take a flash picture… it seriously lights up the entire room with it’s awesome reflective thread woven throughout the entire jacket!!

Brooks Running Pure Project Men's Jacket
Brooks Running Pure Project Women's Jacket
Brooks Pure Project Running Apparel

I also loved their Pure Project Seamless Capri in grey!  They felt sturdy and were thicker (which I LOVE! I don’t like capris that are so thin you can see through them!) and they were super soft!!  Go check out the super cute line for women here!!

MEN!! They have some awesome stuff for you too! Check it out!!

At the end of the night they gave 3 people a free item of their choice… sadly I did not win, but I still came home with some pretty awesome Brooks Products!! :)

*** This is NOT a sponsored post. I wrote about it simply because I love the company and had a fantastic time at the event!  I was NOT paid in any way for this post

Do you love Brooks as much as I do?  (You have to say yes!) ;)
- I LOVE Brooks so much they should sponsor me! Totally kidding of course… or am I? ;)

What do you think about their new line of Pure Project Apparel?
- I LOVE it all!!  I wish I had enough money to buy one of everything!!

What piece of the Pure Project Apparel is your favorite?
- ALL of it!!  Especially the Jacket and Seamless Capri!

2014 Valentine’s Day Card Swap

WILL YOU BE MY VALENTINE?!

Welcome to the 3rdd Annual Valentine’s Day Card Swap!! :)  This will be setup like the Christmas Card Swap so, Depending on how many people sign up, I will divide you all into groups of about 5 or more people.  You will send a Valentine’s card to all the people in your group, and will be receiving cards from the people in your group.  Let’s say you are put in a group with X,Y,Z…  You will send cards to X, Y, and Z and will receive a card from X, Y, and Z.  Make sense?!

Your cards can be store bought or handmade and you can feel free to add a little something to the card like your favorite running quote, running advice, candy, a sticker, a note of encouragement, recipe, or a funny note, or you can just send the card… Whatever you want to do is PERFECT!  Just don’t be sending pairs of running shoes, an Ipad, or a free entry to Boston (unless you’re sending it to me)  ;)  We want to keep this cheap so everyone can join and doesn’t feel bad for just sending a card!   :)

After everyone is put into their groups I will be sending out an email including your group members ONLY with their blog links (so you can get to know them if you don’t already) and addresses so that there’s still a bit of privacy and everyone’s addresses aren’t out there floating around on the internet somewhere!  Safety people!!  :D   The groups will be picked by Random.org so we keep things mixed up!

I will be adding people to a list at the bottom of this page as they sign up…  So, if you sign up and for some reason, do not see your name on the list after a couple days… just shoot me an email and we’ll get it taken care of!

Let’s get this PARTY STARTED!!!  You are welcome to invite your friends!  All are welcome! :)  Feel free to put the logo on your blog and link it back to this page as an invite to other bloggers! AND YES, international bloggers are welcome to join as well as those without blogs… Dailymilers, Facebookers, Instagramers, or Twitterers can join too!!! ;)

Forget Goals for 2014… I have a DREAM!!

dream

I know it’s mid-January and I still haven’t shared my goals for this new year… 2014!! It seems like every blogger has already shared their goals for a better, healthier life…Goals like “qualifying for Boston”, “beginning food prep”, “flip my grip on Dancer pose”, “PR in a race”, “Do 5,000 straight successful Double Unders”

double-unders-2

Well, I don’t want to set any fitness related goals this year… Not yet anyways… I’m still trying to focus on muscle balance and making exercise a part of my life again so that my knee continues to heal and I don’t have life-long pain…  I mean… come on… a year without really running?  It’s been torture!  BUT… I don’t want to make goals because I’m super competitive and know that I could end up over-doing it and re-injuring my knee!

HOWEVER… I do have a dream!! You know how you see or read about something and you can’t seem to let it go?  The more you think about it, the more you get excited about it? You dream about it at night and can’t get it out of your head… and you’re so obsessed about the idea that you will do anything including selling a body part to make it happen?

The first week of the new year, I was feeling a little more settled into our apartment and the busyness and hectic atmosphere of the holidays had subsided so I decided I wanted to get back into blogworld and surf some of my favorite sites when I saw it… MY obsessive thing that I can’t get out of my head at night!!

IDEA_WORLD_logofinal-black

The dream I can’t get out of my head is IDEA World Fitness BlogFest with Sweat Pink!  It’s in Anaheim, California August 14-17!  I don’t know why I want to go so badly, but I’m even willing to sell a body part to get there!!  (ok, I’ll probably only go so far as to sell my plasma…)

There just so happens that there is an obstacle in my way… finances!

I work with preschoolers who have disabilities (down syndrome, autism, etc) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job!!  I smile when I go into work and I’m smiling on my way out!!  BUT, let’s just be honest and say it’s not making me a millionaire!  Funds are tight right now, so I’ve decided the only way I can possibly go to CA this summer is if I raise the money OUTSIDE of my paycheck… just to be clear… I’m not allowed to use ANY of the money I make working… at my job… to get to Anaheim!

Some ideas that I have to help raise money to make my dream become reality are:

- Looking and begging for trip sponsors
- Selling Ad space
- Selling Skinny Yoga Mat Straps
- Taking Donations
- A Fund For Fitness (idea still in the works)
- Holding virtual races on my blog
- Donating Selling my plasma
- Sponsored blog posts
- I’m still thinking of other ideas, but if you have any ideas, please feel free to share ;)

I almost didn’t share my dream with you all here on Runner’s Luck because I kept thinking “what if it doesn’t happen… what if I can’t raise the money and end up not going?”  Then I thought that that’s exactly the kind of thinking that will keep me from heading to the BlogFest in August!!

dreams

Welp… now my dream is out there for the world to see!! It’s legit!!  I guess my dream IS a goal after all… it has a deadline lol! The word failure isn’t even in my vocabulary this year!  This is the year of making dreams come true!  I am going to work as hard as possible to raise the funds I need to go to California this summer!!  AND… I can’t wait!!!  Here I come CA!

Friday Favorites – That Hill is 10.9 out of 5?!

Ok, so I’m trying to get back into the blogging world after the whole moving thing… I feel like I finally have the apartment in order!! (Don’t worry, I have the Moving Story Post Coming Soon!!)  I feel like I’m kind of a stranger in Blog Land now, so I’m trying to change that by making 30 minutes every day to get around to everyone’s blogs!! :)

Now… on to my Friday Favorites!!

I RAN!!!!

I went out exploring my new town, looking for parks and hills and such… you know… the things that runner’s tend to get so excited and worked up about… “OH! That hill is at least a 10.9% incline out of a possible 5%!! I think I’ll do hill repeats today!!”  haha… no?  You’ve never said or thought something like that? lol ;)  Anyways… I started out just thinking I’d walk, but I felt so energized and excited to be outside that I ended up running part of it!!  Total: 5 miles with 2 RUNNING MILES!!!  **no knee pain yet, knock on wood!**

IMG_20140105_224951

Yeah, btw… there are basically NO hills where we moved!! It’s the complete opposite of where we lived before!! Flat as a Pancake!!

Banana Bread

I’ve been craving this stuff and finally made a loaf!! So good!

Yoga!

I told you all that Me and Routine are buds… I get more accomplished when I am busy!!  So… I made my life more busy!! HA! I joined 4 FOUR Yoga Challenges on Instagram! I feel like joining these things every month is really helping me grow in my yoga practice! It keeps me motivated and inspired!!  Some of my favorite poses in January so far:
