Tommie Copper Discount and Weekly Roundup: January 13-19

This is the post that I tell you all about a Tommie Copper Discount and my awesome week of workouts… Just thought I’d refresh you all since I haven’t posted one since June! haha!!

Walk .6mi in 10min; 5 Sun Salutations; Run 1.5mi in 16:50; 15 lunges each leg; 20 squats; 10 Pushups; 5 Sun Salutations; Run 1mi in 11:40; 10 lunges each leg; 20 squats; 10pushups; Walk .55mi in 10min; Stretch 15min; Legs up the Wall 10min 
Tuesday: Work/Rest
Wednesday: (GYM)
Walk .59mi in 10min; Stretch 5min; Bike 2.69mi in 30min (lvl 4); Plank 1min; Walk .59mi in 10min; 5 Sun Salutations; Stretch 15min; Legs up the Wall 10min
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Work/Rest
Sunday: Rest

Running
Total for
 Week = 2.5 miles 
Total for Month = unknown (too lazy to add it up right now) 
Total for Year =  also unknown as I’m too lazy

Walking
Total for Week = 4.83 miles
Total for Month = Unknown… I see a pattern here
Total for Year = I promise next week I’ll have totals ;)

Biking
Total for Week = 2.69mi/30min
Total for Month = 2.69mi/30min
Total for Year = 2.69mi/30min

Worst Runbassador Ever…and a Winner!!

As a #Runbassador I feel like a failure tonight because I totally missed out on #RunChat!  Total FAIL!

But then I got sidetracked by family stuff… family totally takes priority… I completely understand if my high elite status as Runbassador gets revoked though… ;)
Anyways… I’m sure I’m not the only one that missed #RunChat tonight… so for your sake… and mine… here are the questions with my answers! Feel free to join in by commenting with your answers below this post!!

Q1: What do you do consistently to help keep your legs fresh? (foam roll, compression, ice bath?)
A1: I stretch, foam roll, use a stick, and compress!!

Q2: Okay, if you were stranded on an island, what 3 items of running gear would you have with you?
A2: My Ipod, Garmin, and Nuun!! Gotta stay hydrated! I wouldn't need shoes... I'd become a barefoot runner! ;)

Q3: What's your favorite cross training activity? How often do you do it?
A3: At the moment... I like Jackie Warner's 30 Day Fast Start and I do it 2-3 times a week.

Q4: What's your highest weekly mileage for a half or marathon? How many days are non-running days?
A4: I haven't trained for one in a few years... but lets just say... not enough and too many ;)

Q5: Thanks to @110playharder for sponsoring ‪#‎runchat‬. What running products are still unknown to you that you want to try?
A5: Vibram Five Fingers... and Injinji socks... I think the socks would cut down on blisters and lost toenails and the V5Fs just look fun ;)

Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That & #Runchat Runbassador

My knee has been hurting since last Wednesday’s 3.23 miles for National Running Day… I think even though I walked for more than half, it was still more than I’ve done in a while so I overdid it… I don’t want to go into an all knee post right now… I’m sure I will soon, but we did go to Fleet Feet on Friday because they have a Personal Trainer that takes walk ins and I wanted to talk to her about my knee.  Unfortunately it didn’t turn out to be very helpful BUT fortunately it was also National Donut Day and there happened to be a Krispy Kreme across the street! ;)  Who doesn’t like fresh warm FREE donuts?!

BTW, I’m on instagram HERE… I have a dumb phone, one of those ancient flip deals that doesn’t connect to the internet at all… seriously stone age over here… so I don’t post a lot.  That will change once July comes because my contract will finally be over.  Sidenote commenced… Anyways… So ever since Wednesday my days have consisted of a lot of KT Tape, Ibuprofen, ice, and Tommie Copper Knee Compression Sleeves… I promise you all a post of nothing but me whining about being hurt because I know you all want to read a “why me” post, but today is not the day…

After I stopped feeling sorry for myself, for a few seconds anyway, I headed to the grocery store… It’s always a good thing when at least half of your groceries are fresh produce! ;)  (Don’t judge the delicious s’more ingredients – they are a food staple in the summer!)

After I came home I made dinner which consisted of mac and cheese and tuna, cheese, spinach, and egg on a whole wheat tortilla shell… obvi yummy!  For dessert none other than the previous stated s’more treat!  I know some of you make your s’mores in the microwave just because you’re craving one…. please don’t tell me I’m the only whacko one who does this?!  Hey, if you don’t have a campfire and you’re craving a s’more, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Last but not least, I am finally an ambassador of something!! And no, it’s not of the lame and injured!
:-P  I am a #Runchat Runbassador!!  woohoo!!  Please tell me you know what #runchat is?! Happy National Running Day!

National Running Day - June 5, 2013

I run for too many reasons and they wouldn’t all fit apparently! ;)

Today to celebrate the occasion I actually got outside and got a run in!  I taped up my knee in KT Tape and headed out the door.

I got in 3.23 miles @13:35/mile (43:50)… talk about feeling slow! :(  I just have to keep reminding myself that it will get better and I will be able to run as fast as I used to again…I ended up walking about half of it because I didn’t want to push my luck and end up aggravating my knee more than it is already… I actually think it’s getting better (slightly) but that’s a post for another day… Here are some views from my run today.

- More now than “real” ones because I can go at a slow pace due
