First of all, can I just say that I had my second post-marathon run (1st post-being sick) today and it felt SO GOOD!! 2.04 miles in 18:57minutes.
The day started out with My mom, me, my twin and her future mother and sister in laws going bridesmaid dress shopping. We went to about 4 or 5 different stores looking at dresses and accessories for my twin to wear in her hair for her reception. I think we finalized our decision, but nothing is set in stone yet… and I can’t show you because it’s my twin’s wedding and I don’t want to spill any of the beans on the net where people can find it :)
Everyone was ok with carb-loading right along with me and I was introduced to Buca di Beppo (an Italian Restraunt) for the first time… it was delicious and had pictures of Frank Sinatra everywhere … I love ol’ blue eyes :) Have you ever eaten at a Buca di Beppo before? What’d you think?
After that, we headed to my FIRST MARATHON EXPO… ok, all expo’s are the same no matter what distance you are running, but everything is more exciting when it’s your first ;)
I’ve been to a few expos before, but this one was extremely busy!! It was so crowded, and no one knew where to go to get there packets. There weren’t any signs pointing you in the right direction so everyone was asking and pointing each other in the right direction. CHAOS!
As soon as I picked up my Bib, Shirt, and “goodie bag” which by the way only had paper advertisements in it, no samples of anything (what a bummer), I got a text saying that Wells from My Story…Chapter 2 was still at the expo so we met up right outside of the expo. She is just as sweet, bubbly, and uplifting in person as she is on her blog… an awesome person indeed! :) I also got to meet “C” and “L” and they are just the sweetest too! :) I’m so glad I got to meet you all! :)
After we said our goodbyes and good lucks I went back into the expo because I wanted to find a 26.2 car magnet to finalize my achievement :) I ended up getting an official Columbus Marathon jacket as well because you only have one first ;) lol… I couldn’t resist!
After the expo, we headed home and had pizza for my twin’s fiancé's birthday and then I set out all my stuff for our early wake up time the next morning, took a handful of medicine and a pint of cough syrup, and headed to bed.
Coming Soon: My first marathon recap! :)
Please continue voting for me for the Refuel with Chocolate Milk Grant!! Thanks guys! :)
