Shoes, Shoes, Shoes!

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL!!

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway!! Ends tomorrow 11:59pm ET!

Today, I said goodbye to the bikini and flip flops (not that I got to swim at all this summer thanks to summer quarter)… I switched out all my summer clothes and shoes for my fall/winter clothes and shoes.  It was kind of depressing since summer is my absolute favorite season… but it’s ok because fall is a close 2nd! :)

Fall quarter started yesterday… it went really well, I’m going to really enjoy it, but it’s going to be a lot of hard work and studying… LOVE all my profs… they all smile all the time and crack jokes non-stop… it will be a great quarter :) AND if you read my post yesterday, you would know that after I got out of classes, I was heading to Fleet Feet to get fitted for a pair of shoes… first visit to a running store ever.

Here’s what I ended up with after getting measured a few different ways, running on the treadmill barefoot and running with different shoes on both feet a few time…

Any guesses as to what’s inside?

Go ahead…

take a guess…

Brooks Ravenna 2! :)  Did you guess right? lol… They feel so good on… I’m pretty sure this “NIKE EVERYTHING!” girl has now been converted to Brooks Shoes!! I like them so much I had to get a few pictures of them on my feet…

Hello Mrs. Bigfoot! Jeesh! lol… I ended up getting a half size bigger than my “normal” shoes to hopefully get rid of my toe blistering and toenail losing problems…

And here is the big, happy, running shoe family:

What shoes do you run in?
- Used to be strictly Nike, but I’m converted to Brooks!

What size shoe do you wear?
- ”normal shoes” I wear size 9US and now my running shoes are 9.5.

Do you swap out your shoes for different seasons? Or is your closet big enough to hold all your shoes all year?
- This is the first year I’ve actually had to swap out my shoes… I think it’s because of my growing running shoe collection… just maybe ;)

  3. I just made the switch from Nike to Brooks (Adrenaline GTS 11 which I swear, I blog about WAY too much!) and I am seriously so happy with them! I sometimes run in my Merrell Pace Gloves too when I'm going minimalist

  4. Love those shoes! Not that I need another pair but those do look amazing. I wear a little bit of everything. I used to sell shoes so I own at least 20 pairs of running shoes. I rotate amongst the bunch but I have my favorites that I save for race day!

  5. Those shoes would so totally match my half mary outfit I'm wearing tomorrow- need nail polish to match them? I got you covered:)

Those are nice shoes. When I first started running I was gait tested and put into Brooks Defyance size 7.5 wide. I developed shin splints after about 9 months and that started the carousel of shoes for me. After these long distance races are finally done in December I'm going to go back to Brooks. I think I was the most "healthy" while I was wearing them. you'll love them.
Happy miles to you and your new shoes!

  7. Love the new shoes. I was a Nike girl until I discovered Asics. I keep thinking of trying Brooks and Mizunos but I know my Asics work so I hate to try something new. I also went up to an 8 1/2 in my running shoes last year and got rid of toe blisters for the first time in my life! My normal shoes are usually a 7 1/2

  8. I also have a larger size on my running shoes. I wear Saucony and love them! They have a bog "toe box" and this helps with blisters and toe nails.

  10. Enjoy the new shoes! I love Brooks but my left foot slips and I end up in blisterville in no time flat. :(
    I wear a 7, 7.5 for running.

  11. Those look really cute on you!

I wear Nike for most training runs and adidas for racing. 9 is my "regular" size, although I pretty much just wear flip-flops year round. My running shoes are 9.5. I had a pair that were 9.5 wide and loved them. I retired them over a year ago and just put them on this month for Warrior Dash. They were soooo uncomfortable! I have no idea how I lasted in them for so long originally!

  12. Did you ever get good answers on the shoes? I am trying to still investigate. I love the feel of the Ravennas but they are not good for my feet. I run in the Trance 9s. haha not the 10s they are different ;) i am part of the 9 family as well!
