I Ate An Ice Cream Sandwich for Breakfast (VLOG)

I completely ate an Ice Cream Sandwich for Breakfast… well, my “2nd breakfast” I had already eaten breakfast about 2 hours before hand…Don’t judge me!  It was delicious!!  Ice cream is my favorite and I’ve gotten TONS better at not eating it straight out of the tub for breakfast! ;)

I know most of you are completely over me talking about my knee pain but it’s affecting my life in a big way right now…  Here are some posts from a year ago when I started getting the pain in my knee: 4/13/124/18/124/22/125/4/12
Before you watch the vlog, I apologize for saying “anyways” and “so”  WAY too much!!  I think I was just nervous y’all wouldn’t like me or something ;)  Don’t hate me cuz you ain’t me! ;)  tehe!

Here’s a great article from Runner’s World that resonates with my injury… Who knows, it could just be Runner’s Knee… but for some reason I was thinking the pain related to that would be more like the actual knee or just under it for some reason…Hopefully balancing the muscles in my legs (quads especially) and working on my hips will solve this problem! :)

Have you ever had a knee injury?  What’d you do to get better?
Have you ever eaten ice cream for breakfast?  Be honest! ;)
Any of you racing this weekend??  Which race?  Good luck!!

  3. I've had knee pain due to ITB syndrome. That was awful and required time off running, lots of physio and intimate masochistic sessions on my foam roller. I hope your knee gets sorted out soon.

    1. Char, that sounds awful! :(
with ITB syndrome was the pain more on the outside of your knee?

  5. Hi Zaneta - First time commenting on your blog - thanks for the follow on mine. It's always fun watching video posts from bloggers, you just get a truer sense of the individual. You remind me a lot of my daughter, but more of my niece Ashley. You're about their age.

Anyway. I really think you're on the right track by increasing the strength in your hips. A lot of knee pain comes from over stressed calves because when our hips are not strong enough during a run to maintain form and leg turnover, our calves try to pick up the slack of propelling us forward. A lot of runners with weaker hips will constantly struggle with ankle, calf, and knee pain. The hips are the main drive train of our running motion, but if they're not where they should be, everything else seems to suffer. Anyway - that's my two cents. You have a nice blog - have a great weekend!

    2. By the way, the calf muscles are connected directly to the knee, that's why over-stressed calves often result in knee pain (I forgot to write that) Have a good one!

  6. Sounds like you've had this problem for awhile. No fun. It doesn't seem fair that we are trying to be healthy through running and our bodies betray us. No judging on ice cream for breakfast!

    1. It's definitely been hanging around for a while... probably because I'm just lazy and thought it'd go away on it's own...

  8. My knee problem is on the outside and the under part of the knee (behind the knee cap) - not the same.

The first thing that comes to my mind is that you may need to do more calf stretches based on where your knee hurts. Or maybe you are in the wrong shoes.

Have you seen a doctor or physical therapist or chiropractor? There are just sooooooo many different things that can go wrong with a knee.

    1. I have not seen a doctor... I know, shame on me! BUT I don't want to spend tons of money if I can fix it on my own first!
I may if it doesn't continue to get better!

  9. I had 4 knee surgeries, on top of what Jim said, strengthening your quads will help you knees the most, which also strengthens all the tendons connected to the knee
